Tribe On A Quest

Youth Program

Overview of Our Youth Program

Tribe’s on a Quest transportation program aims to provide transportation services to youth and non-profit organizations serving youth. The transportation will cater to local recreation, events, social, and experience trips. The organization recognizes that reliable transportation is crucial in providing equal opportunities for education to students from all backgrounds. Transportation disparities can significantly widen the gap among students, especially those from low-income families, students with special needs, and youth experiencing homelessness.

Without access to dependable transportation options, these students face obstacles that limit their educational opportunities and social interactions. The shortage of bus drivers further exacerbates existing inequalities in accessing education, as schools struggle to maintain consistent and timely transportation services. This disproportionally affects students from vulnerable populations, leading to increased chronic absenteeism and hindering their academic success.

Tribe on a Quest prioritizes providing transportation schedules when schools are closed or no longer offer transportation for programs. The program also offers monthly experience trips for boys and girls ages 12 to 16, serving inner-city Harrisburg Youth. Other age groups will be included if a non-profit is in need of our service. Examples of experience trips include outings that offer youth the opportunity to expand their horizons outside their everyday environment.

Our Philosophy

Tribe On A Quest believes in what the research says that providing youth with transportation to activities can help decrease criminal behavior. By offering transportation options, young people are more likely to engage in positive activities such as sports, hobbies, and educational programs, reducing idleness and associated delinquent behavior. Access to transportation also expands opportunities for youth to participate in constructive activities and build relationships, ultimately contributing to a decrease in crime rates among young people.

Providing youth with transportation to activities is not just about getting them from point A to point B. It’s about empowering them to make positive choices and fostering personal development and growth. When young individuals have access to reliable transportation options to get to and from positive activities such as sports, arts, education programs, or community engagement events, they are less likely to engage in criminal behavior. Transportation can help promote social connections, provide constructive ways to spend time, and increase opportunities for personal development and growth. By supporting youth transportation initiatives, communities can contribute to creating safer environments and reducing the likelihood of young people getting involved in criminal activities.

Coordinating transportation for children’s activities can be a significant challenge for many working parents. With busy work schedules and other responsibilities, ensuring that their children can attend various activities can be stressful and time-consuming. Providing reliable transportation options tailored to the specific needs of working parents can greatly alleviate this burden. Accessible and convenient transportation services such as school buses, carpooling arrangements, public transportation vouchers, or organized shuttle services can offer working parents peace of mind, knowing that their children can safely and punctually get to their engagements. By addressing the transportation needs of families with working parents, communities can support both the parents’ work-life balance and their children’s participation in enriching activities. This, in turn, can foster a more cohesive and engaged community, filled with optimism and hope for the future.
